MARIO TORRES PEREYRA 1941-2024
Mario Torres war Psychiater und Psychoanalytiker, Mitglied der Uruguayischen Psychoanalytischen Vereinigung.
Er arbeitete intensiv als Analytiker in seiner klinischen Praxis und beteiligte sich auch aktiv am institutionellen Leben, indem er sich in Kommissionen sowie Studien- und Arbeitsgruppen engagierte.
Extending the legacy of his last name (J. Torres García is the name of one of the Uruguayan painters who founded the school), he was a gifted plastic artist, a draftsman since he was a child, and a member of the workshops of outstanding masters such as Vicente Martín and Dumas Oroño, in different periods. For his institution (APU) he drew the group of founders and illustrated the cover of several issues of the magazine "Temas de Psicoanálisis".
Actively engaged in social problems, he was a member of the group "Research and Action on marginalised children and adolescents" founded by Marcelo Viñar. In 2005 he compiled and published the book "Niños fuera de la ley", which includes five of his own works on the subject, and texts by other members of the group, among them Marcelo Viñar and Maren Ulriksen de Viñar.
In recent years he has been a member of the Forum Group in APU, made up of analysts and analysts in training from different generations, focused on the study and analysis of contemporary social reality.

Ich war bestrebt, als Analyst in meiner Klinikpraxis zu arbeiten und mich auch aktiv am institutionellen Leben zu beteiligen, nachdem ich mich in Kommissionen und Studio- und Ausbildungsgruppen engagiert hatte.
Prolongando el legado de su apellido (J. Torres García es el nombre de uno de los pintores uruguayos que fundaron escuela) fue un artista plástico dotado, dibujante desde niño, integrante de talleres de destacados maestros como Vicente Martín y Dumas Oroño, en distintos períodos. Para su institución de pertenencia (APU) dibujó el grupo de los fundadores e ilustró la tapa de varios ejemplares de la revista “Temas de Psicoanálisis”.
Activamente comprometido en los problemas sociales, integró el grupo de “Investigación y Acción sobre infancias y adolescencias marginadas” fundado por Marcelo Viñar. Compiló y publicó en 2005 el libro “Niños fuera de la ley”, que incluye cinco trabajos suyos sobre la temática, y textos de otros componentes del grupo, entre ellos Marcelo Viñar y Maren Ulriksen de Viñar.
En los últimos años formó parte del Grupo Forum, integrado por analistas y analistas en formación de diversas generaciones, centrado en el estudio y análisis de la realidad social contemporánea.
